Lapwings on the move


Škocjanski zatok: weekly bird monitoring today was a fight against the elements. There was a quite strong and cold wind...however I managed to count all the present species. In the last days there has been an increase of waders. Of note was a flock of 23 Lapwings (present since yesterday), 16 Pochards and a Grey Plover. Yesterday also the local GREEN SANDPIPER was seen. But here are the numbers:
