Latest from Lisert




This afternoon the Lisert wetland held: 2 Greenshanks, 3 Marsh Harriers (including the local pair - frequently calling to each other), 1 male Sparrowhawk, 2 displaying Little Ringed Plovers, 3-5 Lapwings (also some kind of displays), 1 Black-winged Stilt, Penduline Tit, 2 Cetti's Warbler showing pretty well, +15 Garganey, 1-2 Yellow Wagtail (in flight), Greylag Goose, 5 Ferruginous Ducks (3 f and 2 m), 2 Shelducks, 3-4 Black-necked Grebes, 4 Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 winter plumaged Black-throated Diver (at the Timavo estuary), several Common Eiders, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2-3 LITTLE CRAKES in the reedbed (frequently calling, seen half hidden in the vegetation...not very confident), Swallow, Jackdaw (heard), Water Rail.
At 18.12 (still light) above Sistiana (TS) a flock of about 50-100 ALPINE SWIFTS.
