Common Dolphin still present...as are the Shearwaters

Local patch - Miramare: got fantastic views on the SHORT-BEAKED COMMON DOLPHIN this morning, still present in the same stretch of sea; this time more towards Grignano. Usually seen leaping out of the water (see pics above). Despite the name, this species of dolphin is very rare in the high Adriatic, so this still remains an amazing record. On the sea, quite distant over the horizon 2-3 YELKOUAN SHEARWATERS rapidly passing by (towards Grado). Also usual 4-5 Common Terns, including youngs.

Škocjanski zatok: this time 1 male KENTISH PLOVER was present in the lagoon (see pic below).
Other "notable" records included: 7 Pygmy Cormorants, 2-3 Little Bitterns (male and female seen in flight), 1 Sparrowhawk, cca.60 Black-winged Stilts, 10 Little Ringed Plovers, 1 Curlew, 4 Common Redshanks (second pic below), 9 Greenshanks, 22 Wood Sandpipers, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Spotted Redshank (breeding plumage), cca.23 Common Terns, 1 Fan-tailed Warbler heard, 1 Melodious Warbler (seen) and only 1 Great Reed Warbler singing (!!). Also a Red Fox (the usual one??) was present at the border of the lagoon.
